Veroniva is building towards a
Net Zero Outcome
to ensure a sustainable future for the generations to follow by unlocking the abundance of green energy.
WHAT WE DO
Veroniva is a leading renewable energy developer specialising in developing large-scale renewable energy projects in Southern Africa.
TOWARDS NET ZERO
CO2 emissions (tons) that will be avoided over the lifetime of our projects.
HOUSEHOLDS POWERED
Number of South African households that will be powered by clean energy when our projects are completed.
CAPACITY
Peak Solar PV capacity (+ 1.5GWh of Battery Storage) of projects developed by Veroniva and awarded to IPPs under RMIPPPP and REIPPPP programmes.
OUR DEVELOPMENT APPROACH
We do owner-developed developments, as well as partner on co-developments.

FOUNDED 2012
We founded VERONIVA early in 2012, after selling our first company to an international Independent Power Producer, to continue our pioneering journey in renewable energy development in South Africa. Today, we are a leading renewable energy development company focusing on utility-scale solar energy and battery storage projects.
SUCCESSFULLY DEVELOPED
We have successfully developed (from site identification to fully permitted) projects of more than 1400MW and have a project pipeline of future potential projects of more than 450MW. As a result, we are well-positioned to help move South Africa into the much needed energy transition.
A FIRST FOR SOUTH AFRICA
Under the Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) and Risk Mitigation Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (RMIPPPP), 813MW of Solar PV and 1.5GWh of Battery Storage, across ten project sites developed by Veroniva have been approved. These projects, once completed, will provide enough electricity to power about 375,000 South African households. The Kenhardt projects approved under the RMIPPPP was inaugurated in April 2024 and is
one of the largest solar PV and battery storage facilities in the world.
